THE LINE with Nancy Schwartzman was here!

March 3, 2011 in Events, Posts

…And we loved it!

Our first community education event was fabulous, with close to 100 attendees and donations reaching $500.00!

The talkback was a fruitful one- filled with righteous views, relevant questions, and safe space.  The discussion surrounded THE LINE, sexual assault, consent to sex, gender-based violence, and more. Many folks took home some buttons and offered their views and experiences. We had much support from queer communities and female identified folks, and look forward to time spent with whomever visits us next! We are grateful for your feedback. support, and sweet lovin.

Thank you to Black Rock Pub for hosting us!

Thank you to Nancy Schwartzman! Consider exploring her current project, xoxosms.

We look forward to learning with you in the future.

SAVE THE DATE!

February 10, 2011: Film Screening and Talk-Back with Activist and Documentarian, Nancy Schwartzman

That’s right! On February 10, right here in Chicago, Nancy Schwartzman is screening her amazingly-excellent documentary, THE LINE, to benefit SHEER.

Nancy’s work is an obvious fit with SHEER: her sex-positive, anti-rape work is nothing short of revolutionary! Nancy is a filmmaker, writer and activist working extensively in documentary film and strategic social justice outreach. Her area of focus is sex and communication. For over thirteen years she has created community solutions to prevent sexual violence and promote public debate. Her documentary, THE LINE explores sexual boundaries and consent from a sex-positive point of view. Emphasizing interactivity and new media, she launched THE LINE Campaign to empower young people to re-envision their intimate relationships.
